This
module has taught me a lot in academic writing, from language to content, as
well as organisation. In the past, I used to have this habit of questioning the
reader by prompting a question in my writing. Only recently then I found out
that it is actually redundant, and there will be tendency for me to make
mistakes. Besides, I have also better understood how to write a thesis
statement correctly. Writing a thesis statement is one of my weaknesses, but
now I understand how it can be written.
Language
is still my weakness thus far. There were times whereby I do not know if I have
made mistakes in my writing. After reading several times, everything seemed correct
to me until when I got the feedback. Thus, there is no perfection in everyone’s
writing. Hence, a lot of practices need to be done and the feedbacks given
further help us in improving ourselves from performing the same mistakes again.
This English module really taught me a lot in correcting my past mistakes and
it is a great platform for me to improve on what I lack of.
Going
through my feedback on summary and reader response, I did make necessary
changes as I understood the mistakes I have made. By reflecting my grade for
writing, I understand that I need to improve a lot on my language and content.
The
audio and written feedback is a great way to get feedback other than
face-to-face. I think the audio is very useful as it is clearer and concise
compared to the written one. This is a great tool for feedback and should be
recommended to use in other courses.
